The idea for Greats, the just-launched men's footwear brand, came to industry vets Jon Buscemi and Ryan Babenzien years ago but they knew the timing just wasn't right. But late last year, inspired by the disruptive direct-to-consumer models of upstarts like Warby Parker and Everlane, the two decided that guys were now ready for an online-only men's shoe brand. With a laser focus on build quality and materials sourced from the world's best suppliers, Greats is paying homage to classic kicks by reinterpreting timeless silhouettes in a more modern, fashion-forward way. And by cutting out the conventional middleman model, they're not only able to offer quality made shoes at more attainable prices, but it also allows them to deliver fresher design concepts to footwear fans even faster. They're starting with these two handsome sneakers, but keep an eye out for additional styles and dress shoes coming later this year.
