Here's a modern take on the electric lamp design first patented this week back in 1880 by Thomas Edison. Cleverly dubbed the "Edison chandelier," the industrial design of the bare bones fixture sill seems a bit like a luxury—if only because the old-fashioned filament bulbs may be the only the ones in your whole place that aren't compact fluorescents. The light's fabric-covered cords can be mounted in any configuration and even the length of the wires can be readjusted with just a squeeze of the brackets. And if anyone asks you where you got it, just say "the flea market."
