In the first of a new regular series, we'll be interviewing stylish notables for an inside look at their Wants & Needs: those prized possessions they could never part with, and a wish list of the items they're currently lusting after. Sid Mashburn is the perfect pilot subject. A well seasoned player when it comes to men's style, he's worked for the biggest names in the business—Ralph, Tommy and J.Crew to name a few. These days, he's leading the charge to reinvigorate the traditional men's haberdashery with his own popular shop in Atlanta, Georgia. Combining private label Sid Mashburn shirts, shoes and suiting with an offering of classic complementary products, Sid aims to give his customers the absolute best shopping experience. And his natural southern hospitality certainly doesn't hurt this goal.
It was the first present from my wife, who searched all over New York City for it. This was before there was Google. Now, it takes only seconds to find.
The perfect all in one watch ... from beach to black tie, field to office. I love its perfect simplicity and manliness.
This is from my Dad. The way it works is so whacked out.
My first purchase from "Sid Mashburn." Bench-made in Northampton, very comfortable, great with jeans or way dressed up and not nearly as fancy as they appear. ($595, at Sid Mashburn)
This is a work of art. The lapels, the gorge, the notches, the ticket pocket, the armhole, the construction ... it's so comfortable I could call a huddle in it.
I know this is not something you can buy, but this takes up a whole parking lot in my brain.
A thing of beauty.
Awesome bookshelf speakers.
These next three are a package of what I'd imagine is every guy's pursuit.
Sure, it's a bit finicky but I like it.
I like that it doesn't feel uber suave and I especially like the glassy greenhouse styling. It feels like you can see everything.
