Twenty-five years ago, a film by the director of Porky's was released about a young boy who only wants one thing for Christmas: the Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Lightning Loader Range Model Air Rifle. It had the usual family melodrama, but was paired with some clever inner monoluge. A Christmas Story did alright in theaters but year after year, the movie gained audience and today it's as ubiquitous come December as It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street. TBS even shows it in a continuous 24-hour loop come Christmas Eve. To celebrate the beloved film's big anniversary, an Ultimate Collector's Edition was released just in time for Winterfest in Cleveland—where the film's original house still stands, with that major award shining "like electric sex" in the window.
