Cuff 'Em

This fall, we're embracing the return of the cuffed trouser. Not the roll you might use with your jeans to flash some ankle or show off your boots, but a crisp, tailored fold. For years, flat-front, non-cuffed pants (whether part of a suit or not) were the cool, modern thing to buy. But the fashion pendulum has swung and what's classic is cool, so it's not surprising the cuff is enjoying a resurgence. Embraced by Americana-loving labels like Ralph Lauren, Thom Browne and Michael Bastian, it's a look that works best with thicker, heavy fabrics like wool flannel. The pair here is L.L. Bean's new Town and Field pant,  which can be cuffed at no extra charge when ordered online.

Wool pants, $89 at L.L. Bean
Socks, $24 by Smart Turnout
Loafers, $125 by Bass
