Vanson for Epaulet jacket, $425
Brooklyn boutique Epaulet is hopping across the Wallabout Bay for a short time to team up with Staple Design and retail/art hybrid the Reed Space. Kicking off today, the Lower East Side set-up will be launching new products from Epaulet's in-house line in addition to some interesting collaborations with brands like Gitman Vintage and Nau. One standout piece is the "Heirloom" shawl collar cardigan. The ideal fall layer, it's tailored with a slim fit and high armholes to avoid looking lumpy and each is hand-knit in a small workshop in Canada. Also launching is the Vanson for Epaulet "Triton" Jacket, a great Belstaff alternative for would-be motorcyclists, along with a surprisingly affordable pair of Horween leather boots handmade in Wisconsin for the shop by Thorogood. What's more, even if you can't make it to Manhattan, the merchandise will be available to all online.
Until Oct. 30, at 151 Orchard St. and Epauletshop.com
