Feiyue sneakers were first introduced in Shanghai back in the 1920s and their comfort and flexibility made them an instant hit with athletes and martial artists. They remained ubiquitous in China for decades before eventually fading to near obscurity. A few years ago, a French sneakerhead discovered the shoes and quickly acquired the line to resurrect the brand. They upped the quality and tweaked the design a bit (but thankfully, the retro style remains unchanged). The shoes then took off in Europe and the rest of Asia, but weren't so easy to find here in the States. Until now. And while they now offer leather versions, we prefer the classic canvas. Unlined and lightweight, the low-profile kicks are ideal for going sockless. Wear them (and wash them) like a pair of jeans all spring and summer.
