The S/S 09 show.

Red, White
& Browne

Thom Browne's runway shows (and thus, his overall collections) always have a strong theme and for spring, the man in the shrunken suit set his sights on the WASPy pastime of choice, tennis. So why not take on the classic court shoe? For Browne's recent pop-up shop at the Parisian boutique Colette, the designer used one of his favorite materials, grosgrain ribbon, to re-imagine the classic Jack Purcell sneaker. The patriotic basket weave is the same look that he used for a suit in his spring show, but the kicks will only be available for a limited time. And of course, will cost you a bit more than the simple cotton version. $1,810 at Colette
