Boston-based New Balance produces more than a quarter of all their shoes in factories throughout Massachusetts and Maine. In fact, the 103-year-old company is the only major athletic footwear manufacturer still making shoes in the United States. A feat they're commemorating with a limited-edition line of their classic shoe dubbed the 574 Clips Collection. The name has two meanings. First, the shoes are constructed of scraps of suede and fabric from New Balance's Lawrence, MA factory and finished with an embroidered "USA." The second meaning stems from the launch campaign. For each of the 480 pairs made, a short video clip was produced for the site 574Clips. Once you get your pair, find the accompanying video, claim them and be immortalized online. How's that for history? $75, at Reed Space, Bodega, Commonwealth and Undefeated
